We enjoyed our time in Colorado... and, my goodness, it is a gorgeous place, indeed! We concluded the Colorado part of our trip (the first half) and went on to visit many destinations in South Dakota. There really isn't much in Colorado, but of the landmarks that are there... they blew us away! Some of the most amazing landmarks in the WORLD. It's amazing how the earth shifted so many centuries ago, causing canyons and plateaus on land. It's beauty is left behind for us to marvel.
We wanted to endure the whole adventure of being in the wildness. So, with the fresh, crisp air blowing in our hair and the altitude change, it made for some perfect conditions to camp in tents. How many people go all out, like that... You better believe that the man I'm married to is going to throw that in there (being one of the most outdoor adventurists I know!). So, after almost a full day of driving from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Custer, South Dakota, we arrived just in the nick of time to throw up our tent and get prepared for a two night's stay in Custer State Park. Kevin and Peyton threw up the massive tent (only the best, of course), while Khloe and I unpacked the car. Khloe loved helping as much as we would allow her to. She was such a big girl!

Way to go guys... This tent is HUGE in person and we all slept comfortably both nights! Kevin, of course, has all the best camping gear for our family. He's wonderful!
We explored Custer and Custer State Park over the next couple days. Leaving during the day to explore other huge landmarks in South Dakota (that were nearby - which, we'll share in the next several posts). We had no cell phone service the entire time we were in the western side of South Dakota. Boo. But, it was nice to get away from technology for a while.

Custer was our home for 2 days/2 nights. We enjoyed the several thousand acres park. It was neat! Follow us to our next travels (including Mt.Rushmore, The Badlands and much more)!
