Easter Day - Walk in the Park...

We always like to do some outdoor adventures on the holidays (as long as the weather cooperates!). So, we hiked around Blowing Springs Park... It was nice outside after the rain went away. So, we took a few fun pictures of our family and enjoyed the day. We headed to dinner afterwards.

Tootles!!

Easter Morning - 2013

Easter morning was fairly quiet in the Yingst household. LOL Alexis (my niece) stayed the night with us, because her mother had been off making her final visits before heading back to Nashville. So, Tasha (Alexis' mom and my sister) showed up early today to get Alexis. She brought little Reed (who is almost a year younger than Khloe). The two lads played around a little before they headed out.

The kids sat down to see what the Easter Bunny brought that morning... :) And, your kids will always be your babies... they are never too old for Easter baskets, so Peyton got one just like little sissy! They loved their baskets and surprises within, this year!

Here are the kids exploring their Easter Baskets...

Who could ask for anything more???

Here are some quick snapshots of Alexis and Reed before they left this morning...

(See the next post for our family outing to Blowing Springs State Park - before Easter Dinner at Abuelo's)

Happy Easter Friends and Family... The Yingst Family Loves You!!!! Remember, give thanks to God for giving his son, Jesus Christ, to be resurrected and then risen from the dead on this day so that we all can enjoy life with our families on Earth!

Easter Weekend Family Festivities

It rained a lot Easter weekend, so we didn't really do any Egg Hunts with the kids. We did take them to Easter Celebration at Orchards Park in town. It was muddy, so we didn't stay long. But, at least Khloe got to be around other kids that Saturday. Alexis, our niece, was in town with her mom and brother from Nashville, so we were excited that she got to spend 3 days with us! Love that girl!

On Saturday, we went to the Easter Celebration at Orchards Park with the kids (ran in to some good friends). Then, we dropped Peyton and Alexis off at the movie theater to watch the new movie OZ (while we shopped).

When Kevin went into the new Harp's in Bentonville, he discovered a Jack fruit they had. He had enjoyed this fruit in South America YEARS ago and was surprised to see that Harp's had it... but it was just a one time thing for them to carry that fruit (sort of an appearance for their Grand Opening). AND... Of course, my husband decided to buy the $93 fruit for Easter morning... Yes, the fruit is a tropical fruit and a delicacy and really did cost $93! The store only had two of them in the store (I could see why... considering they were almost $100 for ONE fruit!??!). It's the Jack Fruit. It is grown in tropical climates... mainly countries like South America and I would guess 90% of Americans have never even tried the fruit. So, we cut it up on Easter morning and ate part of it. It was yummy (it tastes like Juicy Fruit gum and has an odd texture to it).

Here are the kids at the Easter Celebration at Orchards Park:

The infamous JACK FRUIT my husband purchased at Harp's to enjoy on Easter! These pictures crack me up at how excited Kevin and Peyton are about the fruit!!! LOL

Silly boys... they love some Jack Fruit! Ha!

Kids' Easter Picture Session with Myra

As I have stated before, the photographer that we use for the kids' holiday pictures lives 1 minute from our house. So, it really is quite convenient for us to use Myra for quick sessions. She does a good job. :) Peyton is getting to the age where he almost refuses to take pictures anymore.... So, I'm lucky when he agrees to be part of the session with his little sister, Khloe!

Here are the pictures from my sweet kids' Easter Session with Miss Myra!

So, as you can see they turned out pretty cute! Not so bad considering I had a tired 3 year old and a grumpy 14 year old on my hands! I feel truly blessed to be the mother of these two stinkers... God is GOOD!
