One of the wonders of the world... These rock formations/shifts (The Badlands) were absolutely astonishing. It sends an unfamiliar sight to your brain... and is hard to believe that such a canyon exists in the United States. Simply unreal.
It was fairly hot outside (especially with the sun ricocheting off of the rocks), so Khloe and I had to sit in the vehicle the bulk of the time (while the boys were exploring these unbelievable rock structures/canyons). We did a little exploring ourselves, but it takes men (and athletic men at that) to truly take advantage of climbing and exploring these structures). Wowsers! They managed to capture some pretty amazing images of what they climbed/explored... Impressive, indeed!
We completed the day at The Badlands... and were able to watch the sunset and moon rise while we were making our way out. We could not resist the sensation to stop and marvel it's beauty. You have not seen a gorgeous sunset and rocks change colors, unless you have been here during sunset. As stated in many magazines and literature (about the Badlands), it is a photographers dream. There is no lighting comparable to the lighting from the sunset on these canyons. We captured as many sunset pictures as possible... and, while doing so, we spotted many wild animals in the process. Mountain goats, meercats, turkeys and more.
Here are some pictures from the Badlands, South Dakota:
Wasn't the sunset gorgeous?!! All I can say is WOW! It was such an interesting place to visit. I'm sure we will go back in the future. Our family had a great time - especially the guys (since they got to explore and climb).
