Super Bowl Sunday at Jenkins' House

Even though we weren't really thrilled about the two teams competing in the Super Bowl (Ravens vs 49ers), we still spent time with our good friends (Jason and Shannon Jenkins) at their Super Bowl party watching the game and visiting with everyone. Ravens won. It was a fun night for everyone.

Khloe stayed with Papaw/Nana during the game (it would be extremely boring for little ones to watch a football game with adults!). When the game was over we picked her up and headed home. Two streets away from our home, we had to pass through a Sobriety Check Point. Bazaar!! There were several police officers working the check point and testing drivers. The police was very nice when he approached our car. He explained who he was and what they were doing... then proceeded to ask us if we had been drinking (while shining the flashlight in our car). I told him that I had a martini, but it was a while ago. He said his flashlight was picking up alcohol in the air in our car. LOL Now that is state of the art. So, I had to do the breathalizer test. I blew into the machine and had a 0.025 count and the legal limit is 0.08 or less. Whew! Thank goodness for nursing that one martini the entire 5 hours of the Super Bowl!! LOL The sad thing is that there were probably 10-12 cars parked (and empty) on the side of the road... Obviously, the drivers weren't so lucky and were over their limits and hauled straight to jail. Eek! Not a fun way to end their nights. Hopefully their team at least won?!!??

My final words of wisdom. Don't drink and drive, friends! Those check points could save your life in the long run! ;) Oh, and I hope you fave team won!
