It rained a lot Easter weekend, so we didn't really do any Egg Hunts with the kids. We did take them to Easter Celebration at Orchards Park in town. It was muddy, so we didn't stay long. But, at least Khloe got to be around other kids that Saturday. Alexis, our niece, was in town with her mom and brother from Nashville, so we were excited that she got to spend 3 days with us! Love that girl!
On Saturday, we went to the Easter Celebration at Orchards Park with the kids (ran in to some good friends). Then, we dropped Peyton and Alexis off at the movie theater to watch the new movie OZ (while we shopped).
When Kevin went into the new Harp's in Bentonville, he discovered a Jack fruit they had. He had enjoyed this fruit in South America YEARS ago and was surprised to see that Harp's had it... but it was just a one time thing for them to carry that fruit (sort of an appearance for their Grand Opening). AND... Of course, my husband decided to buy the $93 fruit for Easter morning... Yes, the fruit is a tropical fruit and a delicacy and really did cost $93! The store only had two of them in the store (I could see why... considering they were almost $100 for ONE fruit!??!). It's the Jack Fruit. It is grown in tropical climates... mainly countries like South America and I would guess 90% of Americans have never even tried the fruit. So, we cut it up on Easter morning and ate part of it. It was yummy (it tastes like Juicy Fruit gum and has an odd texture to it).
Here are the kids at the Easter Celebration at Orchards Park:
The infamous JACK FRUIT my husband purchased at Harp's to enjoy on Easter! These pictures crack me up at how excited Kevin and Peyton are about the fruit!!! LOL
Silly boys... they love some Jack Fruit! Ha!
