A Tribute to Mom - Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a special holiday, because if it weren't for mothers the world would miss out on love and affection. Mothers are so special. As a mother, myself, I absolutely love nurturing my babies and raising them to be beautiful human beings (both inside and out)! I love being a Mommy!!

Today, we attended church with Kevin's parents and then headed to brunch at Crabby's afterwards. It was delicious.

A Blessing

Melanie Poulin
What a blessing a mother can be,
A gift of love for eternity.
Nurturing you from the very start,
With the beating of her heart.
A wise teacher to lead the way,
there to guide you when you stray.
With gentle hands and word so kind,
she always knows whats on your mind.
A trusting friend whose always there,
a shoulder to absorb every tear.
Someone to catch you when you fall,
a strong backbone a sturdy wall.
A caring doctor who knows how you feel,
with hugs and kisses that really heal.
With so many different jobs to do,
a mother is truly a blessing for you.

A Special Yingst Christmas

Khloe really enjoyed everything about Christmas this year. It was so magical for her. Our Elf on the Shelf, Holly, stuck around the entire month of December. Khloe was sad to see her leave for the North Pole on Christmas night. She was anxious to go to sleep last night and wake up this morning to see what Santa Claus brought her. Peyton, too... although, he would deny it. Ha!

Khloe's Santa Pictures this year: (3 visits!!)

Our Christmas Tree this year:

Khloe decorated her own Princess Tree this year:

Khloe's top 2 items on her Christmas list were a Powerwheels 12v Convertible ride on car and a grand piano (she really wanted a play kitchen, too, but we are out of space for all her toys, so we opted not to get it for her). Peyton's top 2 items on his Christmas list were a Beats Pill and Ray Ban Sunglasses. Both the kids got their top two Christmas list wants and several other things on their lists. We try to keep it around 7 or 8 gifts a piece... mainly because they don't need anything AT ALL... because they get everything they want all year long. Khloe added another waldorf doll to her collection... she was happy to welcome "Autumn Breeze" to her doll family (which she calls her babies). Peyton got other gadgets... mainly electronics and athletic items.

Here are the kids on Christmas morning (opening their gifts)...

After an exciting Christmas morning, we ventured on to Papaw and Nana's house for Christmas dinner. We brought Khloe's new ride-on convertible over to their house. The kids were able to open more gifts. Khloe baked with Nana (with her new kitchen utensils her grandparents got her). She had so much fun cutting out cookies with her new cookie cutters. Mamaw even joined us briefly.
