Peyton's 16th Birthday Festivities

Yesterday was a bitter-sweet day for this Mommy... Unexpectedly, I had a hard time grasping the fact that my son, Peyton, was turning 16 years old today. What?!! Where in the world did the last 16 years go... I barely blinked and my lad is almost a man. Peyton is such a wonderful son! He has a heart of gold and has such gentle soul. I adore you, son!

Peyton stayed with his Dad Saturday night. He enjoyed a dinner with his Dad, Step Mom and her parents. Then, after dinner he was surprised with tickets to see his favorite football team (Denver Broncos) who were playing against the Chiefs (in Kansas City on Peyton's birthday, yesterday). He, also, received a new Broncos coat and beanie from his Dad to wear to the game (that they were leaving for the next morning). I had. also gotten him several gifts that were Broncos colored (to use or wear at the game). I had secretly packed his bag to stay in Kansas City without him knowing and dropped it off with his Dad before he got there. It was a well-kept secret that was pulled off. What a fun birthday surprise on his 16th birthday!! Peyton said the game was extremely cold... a whopping 8 degrees. (And... the Broncos won!)

Here are some pictures of Peyton opening his gifts and in Kansas City...

When Peyton got home today, he got to celebrate his birthday one more time with us! Before dinner he opened up a couple more gifts from us. He chose to eat at Shogun for dinner, so we made reservations for 6:15pm. Mom (me) picked up his birthday cookie before dinner to eat after dinner. Dinner was wonderful... Khloe loved seeing the hibachi chef and the flames. She was mesmerized as always. Ha! Kevin's mother joined us for dinner. After a yummy dinner, we headed home to sing 'happy birthday' to Peyton... while he blew out all 16 of his candles. The cookie was fantastic! He finished day 3 of his birthday festivities by opening up on last gift from us. He had a wonderful 16th birthday!

More pictures at dinner and at home (after)...

Thank you for giving me a purpose in life, son!! Happy Birthday!! I love you so much! XO
